Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey

Well it has definitely been an exciting couple of days in sports. Sunday, the Bears were able to pull it out against the Vikings, although the game does not leave me as confident as I was the previous couple of weeks. How about that Rashied Davis? davis.jpg
Arena Football League product, baby. I’m starting to scare myself with the gambling stuff, because as you may recall from the show Saturday, I knew the bears would win, but not cover the spread of 4 points. Glad I didn’t place that bet. My gambler’s intuition is really blossoming, and I couldn’t be more proud.

Monday night was bittersweet. While the Saints were reopening the Superdome in New Orleans, the White Sox were getting beat 14-1 by the Indians, and officially eliminating themselves from any post-season play. We all knew it was coming, but it was still hard to swallow. I saw that in Minnesota, the Twins celebrated their play off birth with champagne in the locker room. If you ask me, a team not capable of winning their division, and only getting into the post season through a wild card, should forego the raucous celebration, and keep their eyes on the prize. Maybe I’m just jealous. And I hate the Twinkies.

Regardless, the football game last night was fun to watch, although they were sure laying the Katrina stuff on pretty thick. If help is as easy as going down to Bourbon Street and partying, I think I may be able to aid a little bit in the relief efforts. Also, what’s up with the Saints owner? Didn’t he verbally denounce the city before the hurricanes, saying he was done with New Orleans? Now, after a big heartfelt win, he’s out frolicking around the field with a glittery umbrella, while his wife dances a jig next to him. What a change is here. I only noticed because the cheerleaders were bombarding him after the game, completely surrounding him in their pom-poms. Probably because he’s made of money. cheers.jpg
