Weather Woes

I just woke up not too long ago, and I'm already feeling like it's one of those days. It's rainy and cold outside, there's gum in my hair, and I slipped on skateboard while getting out of bed. Okay, so not all of those things are true, but I read a book that went like that once. I think the the source of my melancholy also has something to do with the White Sox game last night. My brother, Mike, was nice enough to invite me to the Comcast Sportsnet Box, which kicked ass. Unfortunately, the game did not. The Twins served up a 5-12 beating over the sox, and I know it's still incredibly early in the season, and we should be allowed to lose one game a week, but it still hurts! I saw the Cubs finally got it done in the 15th inning last night, so I guess kudos to them. However, you know as a Sox fan, that only makes it harder.
We still had a great time at the game, and I especially enjoy hanging out with Mike's co-workers. Not unlike myself, they also enjoy giving him a hard time, so it's like hanging out in a box with 8 other brothers, all teaming up on Mike Dahl. All it took was one call from his girlfriend to spawn the "Mike just got engaged" rumors, and before we knew it, Mike's co-worker Joe was pouring us all a glass of Korbel Champagne. They really take a joke far, what with the bubbly and all, but you've got to respect the dedication and commitment to the gag. I received major accolades when I was able to sniff out the recent delivery of chicken tenders all the way from the front row, with an open window! As the unemployed guy there last night, I definitely went to town on those tenders, some hotdogs, chips and dip, and several cold beers, earning me the title of "homeless". It's probably apt.

Hang in there, Matt - you'll be back on the air before you know it. :)

You and your show suck, which is why I used part of it on my website. http://theflintskinny.blogspot.com/ Thanks for bringing the must-read stories Brendan! (I hate exclamation marks...I'm really not that excited)
I'm in for the birthday assuming I am not doing something incredibly fun like my taxes or reading poetry naked by candle light.

Add me to all the ladies telling you to hang in there. You will be back on the air soon. I'm always one day behind on the padcast, but I'm sure you were great today.

How much can a fry daddy be? ComeoN!
Posted by: mike | April 11, 2008 11:56 AM
Hey, I'm willing to donate a brand new, never used fry daddy (kind of like the one you used in the YouTube vids) just so we can revive the bit. Seriously! :)

If Matt will accept the gift, I will cover the Fry Daddy just so Mike will drop it already! It will be well worth the target e-gift card!

Tell Brendan to go back to considering KEANU REEVES as best all time Action Movie Actor instead of Nicholas Cage. Saw STREET KINGS this weekend and I highly recommend you both see it!
